To be honest there is absolutely nothing astrological about January 1st. The real beginning of the year for astrologers would have to be the winter solstice. So we are already officially a week into the New Year.
Truth be told though we all want some kind of fortune cookie to help us focus on what lies ahead. Possibly we are so caught up in the conditioning of our past during the holidays it’s a kind of relief to turn toward our future by the time January 1st arrives.
So despite my usual silence on the subject here are some thoughts (brief) about what’s in store for each sign for this year.
Capricorn: So you think you can manage the world? Despite the fact that you are a natural manager don’t be surprised by the unexpected challenges that come your way; ones that seem specifically tailored to pull the rug right out from under you. It’s most intense between June and September. However there is real strength when you deal with the small stuff. No need to sweat it but you should honor the details such as what you eat and how you live as well as what you observe about how others live. Don’t ignore the crumbling infrastructures of your life as well as the planet. The more you engage with reality the better. Put your best effort to the task around the ides of March!
Aquarius: You sense more than you can do anything about. Your mind is on fire with possibilities. You want to stay focused on the positive but it’s well nigh impossible to ignore your dreams and nightmares. No need. Inner and outer worlds need to collide before you can truly break open the shell and step up to your purpose. May and June to offer great creative possibilities if you are willing to re evaluate your efforts thus far and make necessary changes. Get serious in October. Destiny calls.
Pisces: Your whole world is about to change – for the better if you’re the type who allows for your psychic, mystical, compassionate side. If you’re the other kind of Pisces it could be a rough ride starting in February. June is a confusing month for everyone especially you. Don’t believe everything you hear. Don’t respond to everything you feel. Be like the drop of water in the ocean. One with everything. Stability arrives on the scene in October. Open yourself to learning how to live in this world as yourself without needing to escape (so much).
Aries: There are so many options for you. Everything is possible. If that isn’t true, then it’s time to tear down the walls. Those walls are stronger than you think. Respect the limits of matter especially between June and September. Deal with the small stuff despite your irritation at least up until July. If you really want to gain you must be willing to let go of what no longer works. This is a way of life for you after October. Learn everything you need to bump you up to the next level in May and June.
Taurus: Take calculated risks till mid June after which you should pull up your stakes and figure out what you want to do with your resources. March offers a unique opportunity to make something happen that you believe in. It’s a rocky world in June. Even you could feel a bit sea sick. Offer your strong heart and solid values to a world in flux at this time. In October get serious about partnerships; the personal and the professional ones.
Gemini: There has been a lull for you although your friends are going through lots of changes. Your world gets curiouser and curiouser in May. People, places and things are a kaleidoscope, changing in the most interesting of ways. Your butterfly tendencies are encouraged. In this world where people do not easily speak truth be the different one. Let the words that fall from your mouth be worth the effort. There are and have been some really wise Geminis.
Cancer: Intense relationships appeal to you. All that feeling and sensation gives you the sense of being fully alive. The challenge is to see what kind of fish you have actually caught. Is it just you projecting your intensity or is the other person a real match? Don’t answer this question between June – September. Just observe. All feelings intensify from February forward. True commitment comes naturally from October and beyond.
Leo: If you have your health; mental, emotional and physical not to mention spiritual, you have everything. Let this be your underlying truth as you take every opportunity to expand your sphere of influence in the world. Invest in things that support you until July. Your social life expands from mid June. Turn toward those that are intelligent as well as honest. A lot is expected of you on the home and family front from October.
Virgo: Be bold. Step up to your life and don’t worry about what people think. Take the challenge in March and let new people into your life: The kind who could open your heart. You don’t have to be nice but you need to be kind. From May the goal is to pay attention to detail without overloading your nervous system. Discriminate truth from lies and distraction from true curiosity. Study something that could make a difference from October.
Libra: You continue to be hard at work this year despite (or because of) the chaos which challenges you from morning till night. You are a warrior in training: A knight meant to serve the highest principals. From May – September focus your attention on learning all you can about the challenger. Who is s/he? How does s/he approach? Sometimes our greatest enemy is our greatest teacher. There is a definite shift in October: Time to assess what you have learned and what value it has for you.
Scorpio: Take an honest look at your social self. What and whom do you really care about in this world? There is no right answer. Your mission until June is to clear out old ideals and the people who represent them so you can get on with a possibly greater creative engagement with the world than the one you already have. October brings relief and responsibility: Relief that you can finally see what is required, responsibility because so much is required.
Sagittarius: Your vision is scrambled by the machine which offers too much input. The mind is unsteady and relationships are deeply challenging between now and the end of June. This is not a bad thing. The first half of this year is about orientation. What are your goals? Who are the people you can share them with? What resources are at your disposal to support your aspirations? The second half is about trusting the course you have chosen and allowing it to unfold. You are the agent of your own destiny but you cannot control all the factors that you encounter along the way.
