Big News! It’s only the very beginning of this journey: A stretch where we will be defining our beliefs and our visions. If you want to shoot arrows, you better know how and what you’re aiming for. Sagittarians who are willing to work hard will get a lot from this transit. Saturn is like the old crone at the crossroads: She who reminds us that all actions and choices have consequence, and that refusing to act or choose also has consequences. In Sagittarius she challenges us to define our beliefs, assumptions and truths.
For some it will be about legitimizing war as holy; the quest for truth through the use of weapons. The very first deadly weapon was a bow and arrow which allowed the archer to kill from afar. Saturn in Sagittarius is about the righteous made manifest. But it’s also about education which is the other wing of religion. Using our vision to understand what we see; not simply to have blind faith but rather illuminated faith; faith in something we understand.
My greatest fear for this is about the young men (mostly) passionately convinced (once again) that they should give their bodies as weapons to the war – even if their government doesn’t send them (which is bad enough).
My greatest hope is that we will improve our educational system throughout the world making it a universal right. It could be a different, and ultimately more effective, kind of weapon against cruel and destructive forces. Especially if we educate the girls.
Saturn will be in Sagittarius from December 23, 2014 – June 15, 2015 and again from September 18, 2015 until December 19, 2017
A good book to read for this transit might be Fields of Blood by Karen Armstrong. I’m sure she hasn’t an astrological thought about all this but it is an amazing study of war and human nature.
