Sun enters Taurus: 4:55 AM EDT
Venus enters Aries
Taurus, like a lot of other things, isn’t exactly what it once was. Back in the lush green, when you could smell colors on the air and feel the texture of spring, Taurus came of age: When the senses were the root of value and ‘common’ meant shared by all, not lowly. But here we are, and now. The revolution is brewing, the earth turns and we wonder and fret over the virtual world and how it steals our time along with the embodiment of our children. Uranus’ recent entrance in Taurus suggests there is big change afoot – exciting, unpredictable, chaotic, game-changing. It matters (Taurus rules the issue of ‘matter’, the stuff of life) how and where we align ourselves as the earth beneath our feet may be ‘torn asunder’ at any moment. Look for empowerment when The Sun in Taurus aspects Saturn and Pluto. Honor the soul in all things when it meets up with Neptune. The earth is our mother, we must take care of her. So she can continue to take care of us.
Venus is the astrological ruler of Taurus, but she is not at home in Aries. She’s a teenager, thinking she can buck the system: Ignorant but full of energy. Maybe she can. Watch out for her when she fights back. Support her but don’t feed her ignorance. Take the good risk when the time is right. Truth to power not arrogance to the Void.
Sun conjunct Uranus
Happy Earth Day to you. Some celestial skywriter with a message gave us this aspect for this day. You want to celebrate the season? To be part of the living, human family? Then acknowledge the Great Mother, our Earth, seated at the head of the table. This is it. There is no place to go. Our earth doesn’t happen to us. As Her climate changes so do we. We are Her. Uranus loves revelation, awakening, epiphany. Today is that kind of a day.
Venus conjunct Chiron
If yesterday was meant to open our senses to here and now, today reminds us of the price of awareness: Not that it requires sacrifice (though it might) but rather that there is real value in teachings and teachers. For wisdom to be real it must be embodied.
Pluto stationery retrograde
Stationery outer planets are felt at least a week (some say 6 weeks) before and after. Like drums in the background or hearts beating we take them for granted but we notice when they stop or skip a beat. Notice the rhythms beneath the obvious. Breathe into the skips and stops. Change is the only constant.
Mars square Neptune
Should we wish this never to happen? That we never lose our way or feel so tired we think we can’t go on? Wishing is a factor of delusion. Better to marvel at the disorientation, release the obsessive ambition and just sit for a while. Even if you can’t still the mind you can be aware of its relentless cry of alarm. Compassion is the willingness to play in the field of dreams even though you are awake.
Saturn stationery retrograde
Saturn, like Pluto, appears to be standing still and changing direction from direct to retrograde. Two stations in 5 days is a lot. Only you know if you are stuck or if you are growing roots as you draw nourishment from the ancestors and allow the past to fertilize the present. Blaming those who came before for wrecking our opportunities is exactly the same as blaming ourselves. Self-loathing is a lost leader, a waste of mind. It fosters a brand of ignorance that is heard to beat. Better to make an offering to a tree near your dwelling place, one which is firmly rooted in the earth.
Mercury sextile Mars, square Saturn (Mars inconjunct Saturn)
There are so many truly good and innovative ideas being generated by some truly brilliant thinkers and actioners. Only invest or commit to the ones you are willing to work for, with or on. The rest is distraction.
Mercury square Pluto:
Ponder, consider, mull, investigate. Mostly, be willing to learn something that will change your mind and cause you enough discomfort to live into that change.
New Moon: 14 degrees Taurus: 06:46 PM EDT
If you were to stand firm on the earth and declare yourself ‘here’ or ‘home’ where would that place be? Perhaps it would be a real piece of property, the earth herself, or maybe it’s about standing by what really matters. Let your body, your common senses help you see, feel and know where you belong. You belong here. This is your planet.
Mars opposite Jupiter (inconjunct Pluto)
Today’s most automatic impulse is to point and blame. We want to blame ‘them’ for making the mess we are in so much worse than it needs to be. But where is the notion of Oneness if we do that? Might it be better to understand humans as one species, with a big and unwieldy brain? If and when we can transmute the blaming impulse, it becomes radical discrimination, the ability to recognize and understand the difference between this and that. Clear seeing, not prejudice.
Mercury enters Taurus
Common sensing of the world around us, allows us to perceive what is really there, opening us to everything and the ‘just this-ness’ of life.
Venus square Saturn
Common sense be damned! The truth seems to be that there simply is not ever going to be enough for the suckers at the top. Do NOT crumple under the weight of this. Stay present. Use your bodily senses to do so. The challenge is to work ourselves out of the stuck place, not to figure out how to adapt to what is clearly unworkable.
Mercury conjunct Uranus
Sun sextile Neptune
The soul of the world is my soul and yours. Our bodies hold the key to the genius of survival for awakening, to see it all as if for the first time, the same but different.
Venus trine Jupiter
Venus square Pluto
‘It was (is) the best of times, it was the worst of times’ it was (is) our times. Complete with endless possibilities, just not the ones we had in mind. Focus cautious optimism, or all-out intention by allowing yourself to (really) open to what (really) matters. For you. Not because you’ve been sold to but because you found the pearl of great price in your one, precious human life.
Sun trine Saturn
Start where you are as common wisdom advises us, with feet firm on solid ground. How we lay the foundation makes all the difference.
Sun trine Pluto (inconjunct Jupiter)
Truth to power in an age when the powers-that-be use lies, like seeds to grow their future harvest of control does not mean there is no truth. We have to find it closer in, deeper down, and so awaken the seeds of a different future.
Venus sextile Mars
Sometimes want and need come together and we feel deep gratitude. This is a state of being not a social nicety.
Venus enters Taurus
Mercury sextile Neptune
Mars enters Cancer
Two planets (Venus and Mars), the front and back of desire, you could say; the I-want-this-and-I-don’t-want-that, of our lives, changing signs on the same day might be encouragement to open the door to desire while taking care not to be needy or desperate. May the doors of perception (the senses) open us to our world which is infused with soul.
Mercury trine Saturn and Pluto (inconjunct Jupiter)
Venus conjunct Uranus
The message is clear: We are here. Judgments may fly but what is required is breakthrough not blame. Start right where you are. Be open to new ways of evaluating the situation. Contrary to popular opinion, we don’t, meditate or practice mindfulness for the benefit of our individual selves or to make the trains run on time. We do it for the good of all.
Full Moon: 27 degree of Scorpio: 05:11 PM EDT
Mercury trine Pluto
Venus conjunct Uranus
A busy day. A day for strong minds and radical re-evaluations. A time to take a really good look at what you do and do not trust; inside and out. Some say we can’t trust our feelings, others say they never lie. Either way, most sane people agree that it’s never a good idea to act on our feelings in the heat of a moment unless you’re making art or maybe love.
