Sun enters Scorpio: 01:27 AM EDT
Scorpio gets a boost this year from the big, expansive planet Jupiter which recently entered this sign. There is a kind of metaphysical irony to think of giving a boost to the mystery laden sign of Scorpio. Will it be boosted to great heights? Which might look like breakthroughs of a psychological, healing, transforming nature. A scientific discovery that cuts both ways… Or will it boost the shadowy side of Scorpio? A boost to the depths, offering more power to projections and assumptions of all sorts. If we want to avoid the pits of Scorpio we are tasked with withdrawing our own projections and relentlessly investigating the age-old question: Who Am I? For example: Who am I that says this, or does that? Rather than, Who is that person who made me react in such a way? It’s a great question. Most especially because there is no answer. Jupiter in Scorpio loves that.
Mercury trine Neptune
A perfect day to take the high Scorpio road; to sit in deep reflection, pondering the nature of existence; to look under the rock and see what lives there; to allow the soul to speak her truth. To listen.
Sun conjunct Jupiter
Conjunctions with the Sun are the moments when a planet is weakest in action. The Sun obliterates (our ability to see) them from the sky. But something happens when a planet is exactly in the heart of the Sun. Astrologers have a special name for this condition cazimi. The planet, in this case Jupiter, is infused with light for its journey: Light and life force. The Sun’s powers life and while Jupiter sits in it’s heart it may not be so able to grant boons or great good fortune, it is gearing up for the rest of the journey through Scorpio. For us, in the ‘so below’ it’s a good moment to check into our beliefs and assumptions about Scorpio things: Loss, gain; death, rebirth; desire and how they have fashioned our lives. There is an initiation going. It’s not happening in our minds but in our guts, our feelings. We can’t actually just switch our feelings on and off. We can be aware of them. We can acknowledge the wisdom which they offer.

It has been said that love and power cannot co-exist. But then there is, of course, the power of love. However you see it, love is in need of serious transformation today: a real makeover. Beauty cannot be simply skin deep, if it is to make any difference. Those who ponder the mysteries of life will open doors to other worlds in which the power of love is understood or at least accepted. To plumb this mystery we must investigate how it is that we love the ones who harm us. How we can be drawn, like moths to flames where love is concerned.
Venus sextile Saturn
Sun trine Neptune
There is always something to celebrate. Not always requiring a great show, however. Make room for a bit of beauty. Poetic is good for the soul. Beauty is one of the ways the soul experiences gratitude.
Full Moon 11 degrees of Taurus: 01:23 AM EDT
Venus opposite Uranus
Abundant success and generosity go together well. Avoid over indulgence but enjoy the fruits of this world, the ones that were made for simple pleasure. The trick is to do this freely, without clinging. Savor the moment even as it changes right before your eyes, to the next moment, and the next. Sometimes it’s only our perspective that can differentiate change from chaos.
Mercury enters Sagittarius
Think big thoughts, think distant horizons, we need visionaries.
Venus enters Scorpio
Turn toward the losses. What value has come from them? Why is loss the great lesson?
Sun sextile Pluto
There is the shock of change and then there is the process. Process is inevitable, like growing from a child to an adult. It’s empowering or at least it’s meant to be. It’s change at a cellular level. To do this we need time. Let there be time!
Saturn trine Uranus
The first time this aspect occurred in this cycle was December 2016. The world seems to be slipping into a kind of madness led ever onward by the Tweeting Lord. But that’s only the most obvious. Somewhere, according to Saturn and Uranus, there is an underlying structure that is both sane and responsible. Look for it in your own life first. Then in the greater world. Not false optimism but rather a genuine sense of wisdom that can open doors. What have you learned over the last 11 months? 2018 is a year of walking the talk, putting vision and ideals to the test. Ready?

We cannot measure or expect grace. It comes when it comes. We call it luck or good karma. And sometimes we think we deserve it, but we don’t. Sometimes we confuse feeling good with grace. This too is not necessarily so. That’s how it is to be human. Delusions often seem real, but they are not always true.
Venus trine Neptune
All things considered, if it feels right today, it probably is. What should you do with all those good feelings? Well that’s another story. Till you are sure, do nothing save, enjoy your good fortune, the blessing and sense of grace that permeates it.
Mercury sextile Mars
Good ideas turn into actions. Or is it really the other way around? Is it possible we take action and then make sense out of the doing?
New Moon: 26 degrees Scorpio: 06:42 AM
Profound sensitivity in the feeling realm, the watery aspect of being, must needs be coupled with non-attachment to do it’s work. Desire muddies the waters of connection. May our intention be to fully accept our desire even as we surround it with compassion for ourselves and all others. From this seed can grow a month of vision and joy.
Mars square Pluto
What is everyone so angry about? This is an answerable question. We live in the Age of Trauma. What aspect of identity needs to die in the process of giving birth to something more alive? It’s more about letting go than killing it off although sometimes it is helpful to activate a kind of fierceness that enables you to move on. This is all about relationship so keep kindness front and center.
Before sun enters Sagittarius Venus will sextile Pluto…
Mars and Venus are a pair: the hard and soft sides of desire. Given the difficulty indicated in yesterday’s aspect I think we should consider today’s as counterpoint. If we see the world as actively engaged in the difficult process of transformation; in transition from what was to what needs to come into existence, we can find every opportunity to facilitate the process. Fear may be present but only because we are afraid to lose what we identify with. Of course. Nevertheless we are leaving and arriving. Ask any woman who has given birth what it’s like when she realizes that she can’t go back to before labor started and she has a long way to travel before the baby comes out. It’s the land we all must travel through to give birth and to be born.
