Sun enters Scorpio 5:11 PM EDT
New Moon: Eclipse 0 degrees of Scorpio: 5:58 PM EDT
Venus enters Scorpio
There are times when we are swept along with transformations we cannot control. At these times the greatest strength is in the witnessing: To know what we see. To strip away the non-essentials, as much as possible. To accept that even an observer is part of the experiment. There isn’t much to say about such a moment. You really have to be there. Scorpio demands everything. It gets its bad reputation because of the intensity of this demand, especially, and to its detriment, when it is not grounded in integrity. We all know what it’s like to feel controlled or manipulated by someone just for the sake of power. Less commonly felt is the inner strength and power of surrender to what is. This is where real and lasting change begins: This is the opposite of denial. By accepting what is we align ourselves with the ultimate power of inevitability and transformation. It’s a mystery.
This New Moon is the first of four New Moons at zero degrees. New Moons are always about seeds of change. Zero degrees is the newest degree of a sign: The Shape of Things to Come. A New Moon at zero degrees is a double whammy of new beginnings. It will be 19 years before we have these exact ones again.
Here are some suggestions for New Moons initiations:
Scorpio: Seeds of change itself. A truly horrifying manifestation of this energy is the attack in Ottawa. Scorpio at its worst. We can all do better than simply to plant new seeds of terror.
Sagittarius: Seeds of vision and faith.
Capricorn: Seeds of responsibility, ecology, stewardship.
Aquarius: Seeds of inclusion, for the possible human in us all.

Things never get put back together exactly like they were before. That is outside the realm of possibility. This moment is always unique. It teases the mind to know this, yet it is always true; always happening. Make offering in your own way to acknowledge the ever-changing stillness of the eternal present. Boggle your mind, even as you free your spirit.
Mars enters Capricorn
Mars loves Capricorn the way meat loves salt. Mars is said to be exalted in this sign. Mars is about action. It can be brutal even as it fosters breakthrough. Capricorn is about efficiency and good management. At its best it’s about the right use of resources. At its worst it’s a mire of heartless bureaucracy. On the plus side this combination prompts the inclination to act efficiently for the greater practical benefit of society. Mars, the warrior, dignified. At its worst? Let’s just leave that for now.
Venus trine Neptune
They say we are mostly made of water. Luckily we have skin and bones to hold it all in place. Where would you like to slip past the membranes that hold you in and open to the universe and beyond? What do you long for? Is it possible to be present to the embodied experience of riding waves of bliss?
Sun trine Neptune
Look for the alchemical solution (as in bath, not problem solved) in which to place that which needs to morph from one form to another. The right solution (bath) will bring you to the right solution (as in ‘problem solved).
It’s the biggest of holidays, at least in North America. A time to celebrate the dead. We remember the ancestors and take comfort in the fact that one day we will join them OR we gorge on sugar and scare the hell out of the children. It’s so interesting how similar the words ‘sacred’ and ‘scared’ are.
Mercury sextile Jupiter
Venus sextile Pluto
Mars sextile Neptune
All those sextiles suggest opportunity. Words can become visionary teachings, love and power find a way to coexist, and at least one person in some corner of the world is turning his sword into a ploughshare.
Sun sextile Pluto
The Sun is at the center of our solar system. It’s large and bright. Pluto is on the periphery. It’s small and dark. Today there is an opportunity to feel the subtle, inexpressible power of love: Not the sweet pretty kind of love, but the kind that rocks the world and makes a difference, subtle or otherwise. Even small things matter. Don’t miss it.
Full Moon: 14 degrees Taurus: 5:23 PM EST
If you don’t like what you see staring you in the face today turn away at your own risk. This Moon is meant to highlight trust and sharing but these things make us vulnerable. If you trust another person they can betray you. So do the big thing – trust the Universe and accept this radical truth: It’s turtles all the way down.
Venus square Jupiter
A great day for theatrics, exaggerating everything including desire and fear of loss. Nothing exceeds like excess. Don’t try it at home.
Mars conjunct Pluto
Get serious; act responsibly. Use the status quo to propel your agenda even if said agenda comes from the margins. Do not be distracted or manipulated away from doing the work of good people.
Mercury trine Neptune
When you let yourself feel it’s amazing what can happen. You might feel bad or sad and then because you felt it suddenly you’re riding a wave of energy with ease and it feels pretty good. Like surfing. But you have to keep riding because feelings like waves in the ocean, don’t stop or stay the same.
Venus conjunct Saturn
Mars square Uranus
More about feelings. Time to take responsibility for feelings. Which is not the same as blaming the victim. Not at all. Responsibility is about the ability to respond. Which suggests we take time to know how we feel. That’s a good place to start.
If you’re a fan of the cardinal cross and you miss all the excitements of last spring there is a tang of it on the wind. There is a way to do things and there is a world so fraught with the need for change that the way is temporarily suspended as we search for a new one.
Sun square Jupiter
Excessive tendencies that were there on the 9th are still present. It’s about shadow and light. They seem to hate each other at times but they can’t really exist without one another.
Neptune stationery direct
There are many things to fear in the way we are all connected. We could catch things from each other. Things like germs and bugs. That is fear. Our identity always fears for its life. But there is this other kind of connection we can experience. The kind that transcends fear and liberates the soul. The kind that connects us to the oneness of all creation. Throwing open the doors to connection expands us and opens our hearts to the opposite of fear which might be love or transcendence. Play with both sides of this coin.
Venus enters Sagittarius
Mercury sextile Pluto
Some of us believe in love and then others love what they believe in: Romantics and fanatics or true lovers of wisdom? Don’t begrudge the time it takes to do the research and ponder the facts before you take irrevocable steps to change your life.
Sun conjunct Saturn
Respect the truth you know in your guts; the one that knows where you are meant to show up. Some see Saturn as fear and restriction and the Sun as love. It’s not that simple. Saturn is respect. Some people respect only what they fear. Dominator society encourages that. This is a perversion of a deeper human capacity to respect the sovereignty of all life forms and the remarkable web of existence that connects all things.
Venus square Neptune
There are as many expressions of beauty and truth as there are people to express and recognize them. Be amazed by what you see but don’t go chasing rainbows. Those pots of gold are mostly rumors.
Mercury sextile Mars
Think the issue through till your mind and gut know the same thing. Then do the right thing as if it really matters; because it does.
