Sun Enters Libra: Autumn Equinox
Libra is unique in that it is the only sign that is symbolized by a human made object: Not beast nor human! An object which symbolizes the potential humans have to behave in civilized ways. Ironically enough Libra, in it’s civilized way, has brought us the rules of engagement for resolving conflict; the most noticeable at the moment being war itself. Libra is the sign of war and the sign of peace. The sign of cooperation and the sign of competition. Libras are often surprised when people accuse them of being the one to start the argument. Really it’s no surprise! For about the last 2 1/2 years Saturn has been in this sign. It will leave on October 5th. We can only wonder and muse at what that might mean. And we will.
For some poetic inspiration regarding the change from summer to autumn go here.
Mercury trine Jupiter
It’s a story and it goes like this: once upon a time a long time ago and not too far from here there lived a boy and a girl. They loved and they suffered and gradually they grew into a man and a woman. They tried to be good and sometimes they were. They did their very best and were surprised when it seemed that it wasn’t always enough. Still they lived on and became old and one day it made sense or it didn’t. Depending on your perspective they lived happily ever after or they didn’t. Today the story should have a happy ending.

Sometimes desire tastes bitter when we have what we don’t want or when we want what we can’t seem to get even and especially when it seems like almost everyone else has it. Desire is like a sliver of glass from the hobgoblins mirror. Careful not to let it turn you against love.

The powerful forces of breakdown and breakthrough – the big guns of change – are challenged to negotiate; to see other possibilities; to see another person’s perspective. The power of the moment is one that requires quantum leaps just when we thought we were securely entrenched. Hold on tightly, let go lightly.

If you’re in a situation to need it, look for an opportunity to strengthen a container for love by making a commitment. It may be your last chance for a while.
Venus enters Virgo
Venus opposite Neptune
Have we figured out love yet? Have we been able to dissect it with the laser ray of our understanding? What a silly thought. Love like truth “need not be proclaimed or believed. It skips from soul to soul, changing form each time it touches, but it is what it is.”

It’s hard to know truth – even harder to speak it. Words fall from our mouths or maybe our fingertips and even as they hit the air their meaning may change. Lighten up. Truth is relative to the moment (see quote for October 3rd). Tell a story.
Mercury enters Scorpio
Saturn enters Scorpio
Mercury conjuncts Saturn
Mercury trines Neptune
As Evangeline Adams once wrote: Mercury loves Saturn as an egg loves salt. Today they are united in their effort to dive deep into the mystery. What mystery? There are basically three: Birth, sex and death. They are one mystery at three levels. Complicated, fascinating, profoundly simple. We are born, we die and in between we do a whole lot of transforming. Scientists probe it, poets and artists use it for all it’s worth, many crave the power of it, all of us participate in it even if we can’t speak it. This is Scorpio. Saturn will define it. Mercury (for a much shorter length of time) will be curious about it.
Mars enters Sagittarius
Mar’s is Scorpio’s ancient ruler. Funny that it’s leaving home (Scorpio) the day after Saturn and Mercury take up residence. Is our hero setting sail for higher ground or simply doing the inevitable? Just remember, one person’s truth is another person’s poison.

Action always has consequences. Slow down your reaction time. Nothing is as it seems. The players are playing us all.

It’s a party. If you made it past the 7th unscathed it’s time to celebrate; if you got caught in the undertow you might as well celebrate too. This life may not be all you expected it to be but it’s your life. There is power in optimism and there is value in power.

Dreams come true, often over time and through effort. Sometimes they seem to manifest randomly. You turn a corner and out of the blue there it is: Real and feeling just right. If that’s how it is for you it could last a while. Ponder what to do with a dream come true. What will it cost? How will you nourish it? What should you learn about how to keep it alive?

New moon in Libra
Each New Moon is like a first breath or the dawn of a new day; the promise of a new beginning. The slate can always be cleaned. The New Moon teaches us about forgiveness which is inherent in the cycles of time. If the spirit moves you take a leap of faith. It’s a brand new day.

A person can be too clever by half when it comes to love or art especially when they try to understand it before experiencing it. That is a sure fire way to create something glamorous but not necessarily beautiful.
