Sun enters Gemini 4:54 AM EDT
Venus opposite Pluto
I’m writing to you from the subway; the public transit. It’s the most Gemini thing I could think of – given the stop/start energy of spring this year and the fact that I haven’t seen so many butterflies just yet. I’m not quite in the mood to look for June Bugs. Gemini is all about transit. Getting from here to there seems such a trivial thing until and unless it stops working. Gemini is about language and the way we take it for granted. It’s only when we can’t find the words that we remember how important each word is. This year the Sun in Gemini is accompanied by Mars, and Mercury which has just gone retrograde. Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is the powerful and significant issue of how we get from here to there. As any good magician will tell you, it will require respect for the task and a whole lot of focus.
Where love is concerned, today the power of need is so strong it could skew the whole deal. Watch out for manipulators on the inner and outer levels.
Sun opposite Saturn
Intellectual rigor pays off. If you don’t have anything smart to say or interesting to think about, go learn something. Which isn’t the same as trawling for factoids.
Venus square Uranus
Mars square Neptune
Mercury conjunct Mars
Some days are like standing in the bathtub water and reaching for the chain above your head that turns the electric light on and off. (I only know what this feels like based on personal experience back when light bulbs hung from ceilings with little metal chains for the ‘on’ and ‘off’ option.)
Whatever shocks you into awareness is ‘grounded’ in feelings that are too easily misunderstood. S/he who hesitates, lives a little longer.
Mercury conjunct Mars
Strong words, spoken out of reflection will hit their mark, although it may take a while to see the consequences. The important word is ‘reflection’. Possibly it is time to seek out the Simorgh.
Mercury square Neptune
We have all been here before. Well not exactly here because we all know you can’t step into the same river twice and the only constant is change. Nevertheless we often have the sense of déjà vu and a lot of the time it seems downright confusing even if it’s familiar. Relax into what you can’t figure out but watch where you put your wallet and your trust, just the same.
Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde
The deeper your capacity for focused reflection, the closer you will get to your heart’s desire. Be still and listen. This is prayer.
Sun square Neptune
Whatever you think you know; however fascinating you find the contents of your mind; whatever story compels you, needs to be taken with a major grain of salt today. Salt to taste and remind yourself that the stories we tell each other and ourselves are like fingers pointing to the moon. Not the actual moon.
Full Moon: 11 degrees Sagittarius 12:19 PM EDT
Can you bear to see what you see? Would you rather go dancing? Then go. Most likely there is nothing as real as the Dance and if fortune smiles on you, you may meet just the person you were looking for and if not, well you would still be dancing. As all the saints and mystics have known down through the ages: There is only one love.
Venus enters Leo
Mars sextile Jupiter
All things creative are full of sparkle. That means love, art, kids, and whatever makes you feel good about being here. An easy day for life coaches: Everyone wants to believe that they can realize their true potential.
Venus trine Saturn
Just desserts? If so it’s because you did a good job or the right thing. If you’re not being acknowledged for your good works do something now. It’s never too late to do a good job or the right thing.
Sun sextile Jupiter
Take advantage of all opportunities that might spur your creativity to greater heights. There is much sorrow in this world but even so, the play of light and stars and love remains.
Mars sextile Uranus
A great time for passionate actions to inspire social reform. A time to break the chains that bind our mind to memory more strongly than possibility.
Mercury sextile Venus
Sun sextile Uranus
If you’re on a roll, keep rolling. If you’re on fire, keep burning. If you have caught the wave, ride it all the way to shore. If not, get out your dancing shoes and dance the only dance there is.
Mercury stationery direct
Is this the day you have been waiting for? As if, now that Mercury is direct you can get back to your life? Nothing may be where you left it. Time and the river (especially the river of time which the heavens show us) change everything. Be especially welcoming to the world as it is, right here, right now. That’s what Mercury means us to see.
Neptune stationery direct
Two planets going direct in two days is a powerful indication of forward momentum. Neptune’s contribution suggests that over the next few weeks we enter the flow of the soul through beauty and/or spirituality. If you notice, instead, that you are giving in more easily to your addictions and escapes you may need a life raft to hold on to. No shame. That’s what we are here for. To hold and be held by each other.
Sun conjunct Mars
Saturn (retrograde) enters Scorpio
This moment, this day has an opposite number on May 22, 2016. It’s hard to see that far from here but the issue is that today we more or less do as we are told, possibly by another person, possibly by our own impulses which we may or may not be aware of. That other time, the future time, will present a challenge: Why, on consideration, should we do as we are told? Good question.
As Saturn returns for about three months, to Scorpio we are called to take a last look at issues of trust and mistrust. Do we get what we deserve? Is karma a tit for tat kind of game? Or is it something we ‘fulfill’ because it’s all we seem to know how to do? Is it rather a condition of ignorance?
New Moon: 25 degrees Gemini: 10:05 AM EDT
It is possible to resolve dualities when we focus the mind; if only for an instant. The more we focus, the more habitual this becomes. But if we focus too much we lose the ability to be spontaneous; to open our arms to possibility. Full moons are always about contrast and celebration of diversity. The moon lights up the night with a different kind of light than the sun. What do you see with your proliferal, night sight?
