There is a reason that Capricorn is about responsibility. It’s the beginning of winter. When the sun, which has all but disappeared in some parts of the world begins it’s slow, steady climb back up the sky. It’s just like a baby being born and doing what babies do, which is to grow and become strong. All that effort; to turn the tide from darkness, as well as to grow and master the circumstances of life, takes commitment and requires structure. Capricorn, like all earth signs is a ‘making’ sign. It means to build the world: Sometimes from the bottom up, other times from the top down. Capricorn rules both the notion of sustainability and the ‘right use of resources’ which build from the bottom up, as well as corporate consciousness which tends to build from the top (management) down. Sometimes this seems like the great divide, other times it seems almost possible that these two realities could support each other – for the good of ALL.
Venus sextile Jupiter
Both Venus and Jupiter are in signs of their detriment (opposite what they rule). And they have the opportunity to support each other as best they can from these positions of difficulty. Might be it’s time to turn some lemons into lemonade or a good day for honor among thieves.
Full Moon: 03 degrees Cancer 06:11 AM EST
Mercury trine Jupiter
Uranus stationery direct
Here we be; the living. On a day meant for celebration, we are also witness to all sorts of difficult behaviors and strange excesses. Emanations of love nevertheless.
Going forward we resolve to change EVERYTHING.
Sun sextile Neptune
Mercury square Mars
It is most definitely not within our power to get people to understand us even when we are sure we are making sense. Avoid the animosity by simply reaching directly for the opportunity to feel what just is to be felt, even if you can’t make sense of why it feels that way. Hopefully this will not require the use of unnatural substances. Sometimes it’s enough to just hold hands.
Venus enters Sagittarius
Love and freedom. A great way to end the year. But be aware that on her journey through Sagittarius Venus will conjunct Saturn, square Neptune, trine Uranus and even square Jupiter. There will be consequences to this freedom and it will multiply beyond what was expected. (See below!)
Mercury enters Aquarius
Happy New Year! May sanity be restored (?) to our planet and love light the way…
The planets don’t tell us what to think. The idea is that they offer a suggestion of order that can help us align with nature – at least our own nature – with a minimum of chaos. Our New Year gets off to a start suggesting we think collectively; using the information we have stashed and stored in libraries, bookshelves, notebooks and the attics or basements of our lives. Think inclusively; act intelligently.
Mars enters Scorpio
As Mars journeys through Scorpio it will eventually (February 20th) enter the shadow of its retrograde journey from April 17th – June 29th. Mars is right at home in this sign, especially if you are willing to feel the impulse and wait on the action. Strategy in all things will pay off for many months to come. Response, not reaction.
Mercury square Mars
Mercury stationery retrograde
Venus square Neptune
Sun conjunct Pluto
Just in case you thought you could sail into 2016 without a hitch, welcome to the hitch! Our inclination to think inclusively has encountered the inevitable moment of ‘real world’ darkness. Today is an excellent day to inaugurate a research project that could last three weeks or six months, depending on whether you’re researching which couch to buy or the cure for death by lightening. Go deep, be real. Don’t let your longing for the impossible dream undermine your true purpose. But if you need a little escape it’s just to be expected…
Sun square Uranus
Jupiter stationery retrograde
Stops and starts; unexpected interruptions. Always too much to do and not enough time. A great day to stay grounded while embracing change and to inspect the on-the-ground realities of how you live: How you make it work (or not).
Mercury retrograde enters Capricorn
Venus conjunct Saturn
A serious day; a day to consider the value and meaning of what you believe in; whatever it’s worth.
New Moon: 19 degrees Capricorn: 08:30 PM EST
A new beginning at every New Moon. It’s an image of some kind of mercy; that we can start again. But only if we see it that way. It cannot force itself on us: This new beginning. Capricorn beginnings should always start with a genuine desire to manage resources for the good of All. This particular one suggests we will be transformed in the bargain. Sounds like the Climate Change Challenge in action. What is your contribution? Small or mighty, it’s all useful. We are building a new world. Slowly but surely. Chaos to the contrary notwithstanding.
Venus trine Uranus
Let those who are not afraid to risk what matters most, who have a vision of a truly beneficial truth for all beings, take action: Radical but respectful of Creation itself. Insult Creation at your own risk.
Sun trine Jupiter
If you build it… May not always be true but if you’re thinking of building it (any it) the force is with you today and right on through till the end of June. With some challenges along the way. But that shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Building something in the manifest world always takes a toll. It’s the price of admission.
Sun conjunct Mercury retrograde
Mercury trine Jupiter
‘Steadfast a lamp burns sheltered from the wind’ . This is an ancient and relevant description of Mercury in the heart of the Sun. It happens 6 times a year: three when Mercury is retrograde (now) and three when it’s direct. A steadfast mind offers protection from many of life’s onslaughts. The trine to Jupiter just seals the deal. Forget multitasking: Focus.
Venus square Jupiter
Mars trine Neptune
It’s hard to say no to too much of a good thing. In the thrall of it we are convinced it won’t make us sick. Desire has a way of subverting common sense. Still, if you’re up to your eyeballs in work or details that you love you could drop into your inner being; just for a moment even. Remind yourself that everything you do, every action you take, when connected to your inner being almost seems to do itself. It’s a dance. You really can sweat your prayers.
