Sun enters Cancer 12:38 PM EDT
Cancer is not a sucky sign. It’s not weak and needy. It’s quintessentially human because it’s about bonding. It’s what humans must do, right from the start (especially at the start) of our lives if we are to be sane; if we are to be aware that we are not here alone. Why is it that so many things about our society seem aimed at weakening this bond? If you cannot get what you need the way nature intended it you will suck for the rest of your life at the tit of stuff; food, things, power, money, extreme sports, violence, drugs, booze, sex – and beyond. Although none of these will satisfy. Cancer is the sign that points to these issues. Spiritual people are fond of the notion of non-attachment but non-attachment can slide into dissociation if the original bond that makes us human and humane is severed.
Jupiter trine Uranus
If ever you wanted a good time for anything extroverted, this is it. The influence of this trine lasts for a while (every time a planet aspects either Jupiter or Uranus this month). So if you’re feeling optimistic, hopeful and like it’s time already to get out there the planets seem to agree.
Mercury square Neptune
Despite or possibly because of the influx of optimism it’s easy to doubt just about anything. Today and yesterday are enough to make your head spin. Don’t let it. There are simply levels of reality. We all know there can be a heat wave on one continent while there is a chill somewhere else. An earthquake in Nepal and a beautiful day here in Canada. This One World has many parts and this is reflected in our thoughts and emotions. Someone feels the possibilities and someone else is filled with doubt. We don’t always get to control which part of the circle we live on.
Mars enters Cancer
Cancer may be the sign of bonding but Mars is the planet of separating. Mars likes nothing better than a heroic task that only he can accomplish. The army trains its soldiers to act as if they are one, very determined man. Martial. So be prepared when Mars shows up in relation to another planet over the next while, to see the sense of separateness compromised by the need to stay connected. Of course, then there are the Shambala Warriors.
Venus trine Uranus
Pulling on the thread of Jupiter and Uranus: enthusiasm, optimism, extroversion: we are encouraged to feel the energy, trust the love and dance the dance.
Full Moon: 09 degrees Capricorn 10:20 PM EDT
Sun trine Neptune
Venus conjunct Jupiter
Looks like a party up there in the heavens: The Full Moon shines a spotlight on how fragile it can be to feel good, while Venus and Jupiter are feeling quite good! The fragility comes, of course because we get attached to the feeling and try to own it quite fast. In fact, nothing lasts and this itself, is reason to celebrate: Even though nothing lasts we are here, now. It’s an amazing Grace as the Sun trine Neptune knows.
Mercury sextile Uranus
What do YOU think about creation? Who made you? Was it random? If not was there a blueprint? Is everything happening the way it should? These are the questions that propel us to quest. A wonderful night for a Moon Dance.
Mercury sextile Jupiter
The exercise of thinking about creation isn’t an idle one. What you believe about Life or the World makes all the difference to how you experience it.
Mercury sextile Venus
More possibilities for true gems of thought only now the shift is toward poetry and/or music; art and story. The Bard is always with us. Maybe the first created being was a story-teller.
Sun opposite Pluto
Shadows fall, even when there is so much light as Uranus and Jupiter generate. Indeed it is time to meet the inevitable challenge which might be simply to walk your talk. It might be someone asking you the burning question of our age, ‘If you’re so smart, how come you are not rich?’ It’s possible that ‘smart’ and ‘rich’ are not the same as peanut butter and jelly, or meat and salt.
Mercury enters Cancer
Mars trine Neptune
The mind can be like a thread, helping us find our way into the centre of the labyrinth and back out again. To do this it needs to stay focused. Focusing on feelings can be useful if you don’t confuse it with emotions which tend to be all over the place. Feelings are a kind of knowing. It takes guts to know what you know.
Sun square Uranus
What will it be? Chaos or change? Most of us don’t choose chaos, we somehow step into it. But there are people in this world who believe it is good to foster chaotic conditions. They aren’t always who you think they are. It’s far more rational to choose change, to work for change, to believe in change.
Mercury trine Neptune
Take a moment and honor the mystic within. We all have access to this energy but we rarely attune to it. I’m never sure why it’s so hard, save for the obvious relentless noise of culture. To tune in we must have privacy and time. These are things we can only give to ourselves.
Venus square Saturn
If you are holding tightly to something which you think your heart tells you cannot be relinquished, you are probably misinterpreting. The tighter you hold on to your heart, the less able it is to love.
New Moon: 23 degrees Cancer: 09:24 PM EDT
Mars opposite Pluto
Mercury opposite Pluto
How is it that there are those who have more than enough and those who go hungry? What if we demanded of ourselves that which others demand from us; to share our resources? Why is this so scary? Must we lose everything to come to the realization that we could give something? And how does co-dependency fit with all of this? Pluto oppositions ask the hard questions.
Mercury conjunct Mars
It’s not just the mind in action. It’s the mind in action powered by feelings. It is possible and often beneficial to hold back powerful actions until you sort through your feelings.
Venus enters Virgo
Mercury square Uranus
Venus conjunct Regulus. The Goddess is among us. If you want to know what it means in your chart come join us on the 19th. It’s free.
Sun trine Saturn
As we leave the sign of Cancer there is some powerful validation for being honest about how we feel, even if it’s only to ourselves. Bearing witness to our feelings in any given moment (rather than just feeling) is a very stabilizing habit to cultivate.
