Sun enters Cancer 8:51 AM EDT
Somehow this sign got the reputation for being the co-dependent caretaker of us all. Undeserved. Cancer is about the tribe; the extended family; the people. It’s not really about the nuclear family. And just look around you and it’s obvious that the nuclear family is falling, breaking, shattering apart even as a new kind of family is growing in it’s place. A chosen family created by people who expand and extend themselves to be inclusive of more than the nuclear group. It’s evolution; the evolution of Cancer.
Venus enters Gemini
Venus enters Gemini
She does this a little less than once a year. You could say the same thing about Venus in Gemini every time but it’s not the same because all the other planets change so it’s a different reality each time. For example last May, 2013 when Venus was in Gemini Jupiter was too. They had a good time together. Promising everything, not at all worried about delivering. A perfect aspect for the scam artists as well as jokers and comedians not to mention the inventors! This year Venus gets chummy with Mars and Uranus but struggles with Neptune. See below for the specifics as she contacts each of these planets. Generally speaking, however it’s time to love the word, the game, the unlimited things life offers us to learn.
Mars opposite Uranus
If you were seriously challenged in April by a person or situation that demanded change as well as negotiation today it comes around for a final check in. What is it about the other guy that makes it frustrating? Once you figure out how that very same quality lives in you, you will find the breakthrough you were looking for.
New Moon: 5 degrees of Cancer 4:08 AM EDT
How we wake up in the morning is a bit like how we got born. The emotion that rises to the surface is an interesting one to notice: It’s the backbone of the wave that will carry you forward into the day. At a new moon that first thought/emotion is good for the whole month. This is not a test of some sort that says if you don’t think happy thoughts you won’t have a happy month. It’s not like that. It’s all about awareness. If you know what your first thought is, you can decide what to do with it. Energy is about motion. How we use it is the key.
Sun trine Neptune
Venus square Neptune
The sea of invisible, powerful energies we call feelings is the main thing today. For some it’s a celebration. For others an agony of unfulfilled longing. Pretense is futile. Longing is the handmaid of desire. The gap between our expectation of fulfillment and the fear of disappointment that we never can actually get what we want is an opportunity for awareness. This gap crackles with the kind of energy that liberates the psyche. That’s worthy of celebration.
Mercury stationery direct
I don’t know about you, but I sure learned a lot during this Mercury retrograde period. I suspect I learn the same things over and over but it always seems new because it comes to me in a different way and at a different time.
Sun opposite Pluto
When the Sun opposes a planet it sheds the most light there. Pluto is a planet dedicated to darkness. It lives as far from the Sun as it can. Light reveals and Pluto is all about concealment. If you want to shed some light on secrets and mysteries, today is a good one. If you are trying to keep things hidden or repressed, watch out. Someone is bound to shine a light in your face and expose something.
Venus sextile Uranus
Information can turn chaos into change. For the good. It’s not always that simple but it is today. Read the directions!
Sun square Uranus
Sun trine Saturn
Today exposes the ‘theme of the month’: the (obvious) need for massive change on this planet meets the status quo which is invested in convincing us that change of massive proportions will simply lead to chaos. Try not to let fear be the deciding factor in your choices. Imagine that change (chaos) and stability (control) are meeting at a crossroads somewhere in the metaphorical universe. They are magnets and we the iron filings moving in ways that reveal the magnetic lines of force. Each little scrap of iron has the option to be conscious of the pull or not. Awareness can help shift what happens at the crossroads.
Full Moon: 20 degrees Capricorn 7:25 AM EDT
It’s about fullness. What is your life full of? To answer that just survey the landscape of this moment, this day. Don’t pick and choose. See it for what it is. Once you have identified it you can decide what you want to do with or about it.
Mercury enters Cancer
Venus trine Mars
Mars conjunct the North Node and Vesta
We begin to speak from the complexity of our feelings. It’s all poetry. At the same time we are poised on the cliff edge of desire, leaning out as far as we can toward the object of our desire. The tricky part is that to get what we want others have to show up or participate. And we all know that you just can’t make people do what they won’t. It’s a dance, not a competition. Winning isn’t the point, dancing is.
Jupiter enters Leo
Big shift. Jupiter stays in Leo for a year. More fire. Best would be that we are enthusiastic about the arts; the children; the potential of small businesses. Worst would be bigger arsenals; grander schemes that are nothing more than the propping up of egos; waiting around for the big win. There is a great difference between luck (in whose presence we are powerless) and true creative vision (which empowers us all). Do not confuse them.
Venus enters Cancer
We are hungry for love, food, security. We live in an unfair and impermanent world. She reminds us to share the bounty when we have it; to feed the hunger and to care for the needy.
Mercury trine Neptune
Sun square Mars
Our dreams are limitless; messages from the Otherworld and yet the low blood-sugar of the world can erupt at any moment, at any location. Trust the messages in your dreams to guide you to the right place at the right time.
July 20th and July 21st
Saturn stationery direct
Uranus stationery retrograde
Chiron stationery retrograde
Refer back to July 8th. The Theme of the Month announces itself loud and clear even as it has been with us all through the month. We stand at crossroads and must decide things we feel ill equipped to decide. If you’re immobile in any way – physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually – consider the ancestors: the decisions they were forced to make such as the one to leave or to stay. They were just as ignorant and unprepared as we are. We have inherited the fruits of their success and failure. Often, the best thing to do when faced with the crossroads is to sit there for a while.
