Sun enters Libra: 10:22 AM EDT
Mercury stationery direct
Anything in Libra, including the Sun this year joins with Jupiter who has recently arrived on the scene. We can hope for more positive realities with Jupiter here than when it was in Virgo but we cannot assume. Libra is a sign of peace as well as war. It’s the sign of diplomacy and it’s also a sign of contention. We like to focus on the up side but Libra is the scales and if it was only ‘up’ there would be nothing to balance. For one impossible moment, let’s say today, the light of day is exactly the same length as the dark of night. Light and dark are in equilibrium (the only other time this happens is on the first day of spring. All bets are off at the equator). Whether you live north, south or at the equator the next twelve months or so are times when we could expect some expansive (Jupiter) attempts at peace (Libra) agreements and the possibility of more rational dialogue in our individual lives as well as the collective. This month, while the Sun is there, highlights the potential for such activity. Libra’s weak spot is denial; the inclination to ignore feelings. This may be why peace agreements are so difficult. It is no accident that high minded Libra is followed by dark, deep, wet Scorpio.
Mercury, moving direct today underscores the possibility of mutual understanding and willingness to listen to the other side without losing your own hard-won (over the last three weeks) insights.
Mercury trine Pluto
Venus enters Scorpio
Mercury and Pluto are incredibly efficient and potentially able to manifest just about anything. Because both of them are moving so slowly at the moment this trine is not for the day but for even up to a week before and after. You could do some personal research and look at August 10th when they last made this aspect. Whatever you wanted to manifest then has an even better chance now. It’s a great time to make something real.
Venus is considered in detriment in Scorpio because she rules the opposite sign. It’s as though she is far from home and doesn’t get the customs or language of the sign she is in. Maybe she’s homesick. But Venus can work wonders in Scorpio if you are willing to feel what you really feel about love, relationship, beauty and power. The secret is, of course, to feel what you feel but not necessarily to turn those feelings into actions without deep reflection.

Pluto stations are noted for the transformation of power. If you are in Pluto’s line of site you will benefit by reminding yourself that change is inevitable. You don’t need to control change even if it’s hard to trust it. Pluto stations ask us to practice dying, knowing that rebirth is the other side of death and loss.
Despite the intensity and shadowy requirement to let go, today is a day to look on the bright side of peace. If you have difficult relationships to deal with and you are willing to let go of outcomes, today is a great day. Peaceful heart.
Mars enters Capricorn
Ambition and aggression are considered to be a good combination in traditional astrology. How about sustainability and assertiveness? Same symbols, different keywords. A perfect time to take action regarding resources; yours and ours.
New Moon: 08 degrees Libra: 08:11 PM EDT
Another amplification of Jupiter in its new home, Libra. At its worst Libra is competitive and superficial. But every sign has a ‘worst’ manifestation. At its best Libra seeks the rational way to relate. Justice and fairness are deeply valued Libra qualities. And then there is beauty. Beauty is a basic human right. You wouldn’t know it when you look around but if the soul is a human construct, beauty is what keeps it alive.
Venus trine Neptune
A day for romantics; especially the ones who want to dig down deep and really connect. If intimacy makes you uncomfortable (you are not alone in this) today would be a great time to read about it or express your discomfort through an indirect medium such as art. Find the ‘flow’ and ride it.
Sun sextile Saturn
If you’re down a quart of opportunity this is a time to open doors. Don’t be shy and you don’t need to force them either. Look for the doors that invite and welcome and see what happens. Some of those doors might be circumstances in your outer world, some may be opportunities for learning, for deepening wisdom. It’s a both/and kind of thing.
Venus sextile Pluto
Mars square Jupiter
‘It’s just not fair’ today. And it’s true, there are more things than you could shake your fist at that are not fair on this planet. But just because that’s true doesn’t mean we should stop caring, that we shouldn’t do something. Let the something you do be as close to your own reality as you can make it. In your home, in your neighborhood, in your city or even inside yourself; it’s a time to stand for justice, just because you can.
Mercury enters Libra
Sun square Pluto
OK, so you have to be careful how you stand up to injustice because sometimes you can make things worse. Sometimes we react from our own difficult past and aren’t really clear about what we are doing in the present. Worst case is when we are in denial about those things that happened to us in the past. Denial empowers all sorts of terrible things. This is also one of Libra’s less positive traits. Mercury wants us to pay attention to how things appear, what it seems like is happening, but this is not the same as ignoring what goes on below.

Mars sextile Neptune
A softer day. A day to look at possibilities, to share them with those you might have felt were against you. Is reconciliation possible? Could we possibly agree to disagree? Is there middle ground? And if you find it make sure to widen the circle of influence to include as many people or situations as possible without weakening the integrity of your intention.
Mercury square Mars
How we think is at odds with what we do. Actions will speak louder than words even though the word is powerful. The key is to think before acting. Sounds easy but takes some effort, especially today.
Mercury sextile Saturn
Pick and choose for quality when it comes to information the way you do when buying food or shoes. Lots of what seems true is just someone’s opinion. Much of what we think is fact is manipulation. It’s up to each of us to make the judgement call.
Sun opposite Uranus
Mercury square Pluto
Upset apple carts are everywhere. The fruits of our labors scattered willy-nilly. If this speaks to you, open to the chaos, just as much as you can. Tucked away in what seems like wreckage are the seeds of change.
Full Moon: 23 degrees Aries 00:23 AM EDT
Whether we ‘get it’ or not we have been witnessing, , the radical reorganization of individuals into the fabric of a social life that seems alien and challenging to work. You may feel this is not happening to you, but it is. We are all part of the weave. Full Moons ask us to see at night, to open our eyes and take in what’s actually going on around us.
Venus enters Sagittarius
She wants freedom! Adventure! The getting of wisdom! She’s determined. She is us. What kind of freedom has the highest value for you? And what holds you back from going for it?
Mars conjunct Pluto
Intensity. Power. Might does not make right but some days it seems no one is able to figure out another way to accomplish their goals. Where you experience power, invite sustainability in to the mix. Power over is nowhere near as effective as power from within.
Mercury opposite Uranus
The disrupters strike again. What can you do about change so vast that it doesn’t seem to take the individual into account? How can we play our part in history and not simply cave into despair as individuals?
