Cultural Collapse

Presence and the Long View from an astrological perspective.

Description:

It’s no surprise to anyone that we are in what seems (on a bad day) freefall to a kind of social wreckage that is almost impossible to fathom.

On a good day we look around and see solutions to just about any and all the problems we face.
It’s a paradox writ large and meanwhile the world is heating up and people are caught in brutal wartime realities. You know this.
But I just thought I would orient you to the topic we will be taking on in this workshop.
Astrology and art making are perhaps the oldest tools that humans have for insighting the existential dilemma of life's journey. We will use astrology and creativity to look into the Paradox of Our Times: To explore the Great Losses we are faced with and the Great Grief that accompanies such a thing. We will aim our astrological lens at the possibilities, the causes for hope and possibility, the overarching journey including our own, small, very personal and deeply felt contribution to it all! We likely will not solve the world’s problems or even our own. But we may learn something as we journey.

On Day One we will look at the broad strokes of our collective losses, which is also quite personal. We will look through the lens of Astrology's 12 Great Myths (the signs). This is an interesting way to explore the material because each of us has everything in our charts. In times of cultural collapse or great change these are the things that are changing.

On Day Two the exploration will be a bit more personal. If time allows I will take a look at which part of your wheel is being most strongly activated in 2024.

Astrological information prompts us to look in particular places for information about ourselves. I will do my best to prompt each participant according to their individual horoscope. You will do most of the interpreting in that you will be digging into the meaning of the symbol for yourself.
